Pakistan Fashion Week 2018: Real Women on Runways!

..
Have you ever seen a fashion show and said “God! When will I look like  model”? Or question yourself, why I am so thin, or fatty, why I am so dark or short in height. Well, the list can go and on, but the point is simple. The fashion show stereotypes beauty and limit them in few words. And what we viewers do? We take these notions of beauty as the words of Bible. The recently held Pakistani fashion show 2018 in Karachi challenge these limited notions of beauty in the best way.

The young designs in this part of the world presented fashion show which was all about “Real women”. A woman of 21st century, who’s strong, compassionate, and most importantly, speaks her mind. One of the fashion designer Cheena Chhapra gave an opportunity to oversize and women in their 40s to walk the runway. The charm and aura when these gorgeous women walked the runway is hard to define.

The plus-size women hitting the runaways is not a new phenomenon. Fashion shows, in India and other parts of the world, witnessed simpler shift. Ever thought why?

In my limited knowledge, its probably the connect these women have with audiences. The reality is 99% women don’t fall into the category of zero size, fair, straight hair and 6 feet height of beauty. So in a time when realism is more fascinating that dreamy world, this idea is working increasingly. The fashion editors loved the recent fashion and so the public. Indeed, old age and overweight are no longer hurdles of beauty. The message was short and simple, Embrace your beauty!

More power to these shows and today, strong and independent women. Don’t miss the glimpse of the unique fashion show that displayed interesting and trendy summer/ spring collection.
